Epsilon Hydrae, a star in the Hydra constellation, may have up to five individual stellar components and is a Class G5, third-magnitude star. Epsilon Hydrae is a multiple star system located about 135 light years from Sol. Epsilon Hydrae is a multiple binary star with components of magnitudes 3.3 and 6.8, separated by 2.7 arcseconds. Four stars can be seen and another has been calculated to exist.

In Star Trek, Epsilon Hyrae had an established population of sentient lifeforms on the seventh planet orbiting these stars. Epsilon Hydra VII is the seventh planet in the Epsilon Hydra system. Vash, the archaeologist companion of Captain Jean-Luc Piccard, was banned from the Royal Museum of Epsilon Hydra VII. (DS9: "Q-Less")
