Rana (Delta Eridani) is a 3.54 magnitude star in the constellation of Eridanus. This star is relatively near to the Sun, at a measured distance of about 29 light years. Rana is a sub-giant star that is near the end of its hydrogen-burning cycle and is now consuming helium. This has caused the star to expand and become hotter than a comparable main sequence star. As a sub-giant star it is subject to pulsations in its atmosphere.

In Star Trek, Delta Rana IV (most often simply called Rana IV) is the fourth planet in the Delta Rana system; it is class M and has three moons. The planet was the former site of the Federation Delta Rana IV colony. The entire planetary surface, including the colony, was devastated by a Husnock attack in 2366 and there were apparently only two survivors, Kevin and Rishon Uxbridge. Prior to the attack, the planet had a population of eleven thousand. (TNG: "The Survivors")
