Zibal or Zeta Eridani is a faint star in the constellation Eridanus. Eridanus is a very long, winding river that starts at the left foot of Orion in the north, sweeps south of Taurus, west to the edge of Cetus, then doubles back east to Caelum, and eventually ends far to the south, at the border with Hydrus. Zibal is Arabic for "the young of the ostriches".

In Star Trek, The Zibalians are a neutral, humanoid, space-faring race. Kivas Fajo was a Zibalian cargo ship captain, who up until 2365, dealt in rare one-of-a-kind objects from around the quadrant. (TNG: "The Most Toys"). In 2366, Fajo attempted to add Lieutenant Commander Data to his collection. After disabling and abducting Data, Kivas Fajo staged a shuttle explosion making it appear to Starfleet and the crew of the USS Enterprise-D that Data had been destroyed.
