The Star Trek universe is centered around the real Milky Way galaxy and real stars, planets, clusters, nebulae and other astronomical phenomena found in it. In Star Trek, Astrometrics was a specialized lab used aboard Federation starships to chart, identify and analyse the various atronomical phenomena encountered by the starship. This Astrometics Lab houses a number of databases that the space explorer will find useful. The Astrometrics Database contains information on various space phenomena encountered in Star Trek - from accretion disks to yellow dwarfs. The Stellar Cartography Database focuses specifically on the real stars and star systems that have been encountered in Star Trek.
