condition. Not visible to the crew. One requirement to be
on Senior Staff is to engage with the group in the
channels (and come to our meetups, if possible).

intraship-group-chat: This is a catch-all channel
for ship’s business, used mostly by Ambassador for daily
Trek and group info that is not RP. Use for anything
pertaining to the entire crew. Otherwise please post in
your department.
crew-photos: Post your favorites here.
personal-logs: For your personal thoughts. Private,
no comments.
stardate calculator: If you wish to add a date to
your personal log.

star-trek-geek-stuff: Star Trek news and
interesting articles.
star-trek-memes: Star Trek memes and funny short
videos. Keep it PG and professional. Memes that are merely
puns pasted over photos of the actors/characters are not
Star Trek memes.
daily-trek-trivia: Run by Cmdr AthenaDax.
episodes-and-spoilers: Discuss any episodes, but be
sure to hide spoilers with two vertical lines before and
after the text to be hidden.
at-the-cons: Convention photos and stories. Do not
have to be your own.
other-trek-in-vr-chat: Info, photos, discussion of
other Star Trek groups in VRC.
THE NEXUS NEWS
valkyrie-report: Ship’s news, gossip, recipes and
more. Anyone can be a reporter for this shipwide magazine,
in the style of “A Briefing With Neelix.” Check with
Ambassador Wookie.
lens-flare-photojournal: If you go on a mission
and would like to submit a photojournalist piece (meaning
photos with a descriptive report), this is the place to
post it. No permission required.
ask-val-advice: Have a snoring problem with your
Bolian roommate? Not sure what to serve at a Vulcan dinner
party? This is the place to ask.
EVENTS AND MISSIONS
valkyrie events: Any upcoming events, including
Trekkin Tuesday (or videos, if we ever figure out a video
player), will be posted here.
trek-live-discussion: A monthly discussion group,
where we pick a Trek topic, an episode, an ethical
dilemma, or a scientific theory to discuss. Any
suggestions?
away-missions: Do you have a favorite VRC world
that would make a great away mission for the group? Let us
know. We often do this the second half of our Tuesday get
together.
diplomatic-missions: If you have interacted with any alien
species in a diplomatic fashion, we would love to hear
about it in this channel.
shore-leave: Relaxing and entertaining worlds in
VRchat to share with the crew.
DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATIONS
This is where the chief and/or assistant chief of every
department posts important notifications. It is a
read-only channel even for other Sr. Staff.
DEPARTMENT RP CHAT CHANNELS
These are the channels for you to role-play as a member of
your chosen department. It’s role-play only please. Have
fun with it. Participation is rewarded with promotion.
VRCHAT GENERAL
This is for anything that has to do with the VR chat
platform and is not specifically related to our group or
Star Trek.
REAL LIFE (WHAT’S THAT?)
show-us-your-rl: We love to see pictures of you,
your pets, your gardens, hobbies, anything you’d like to
share with us.
interesting-real-life-news: Just that. We are a
progressive, left-leaning, inclusive group. No divisive
politics. No conspiracy theories.
real-life-science: Science News. NO pseudoscience
or YouTube conspiracy theories.
holodecks: Use these 3 channels for anything you
wish to share that either does not fall into one of the
other categories, or if you wish to have a lengthy
discussion with somebody. We do not want to clog up the
other channels with lots of conversation, not pertaining
to role-play or other ship’s business.
ALTSPACE MEMORIES
The USS Valkyrie spent two years in AltspaceVR before it
was shut down. We like to look back at some of our fond
memories.
SAVED CHANNELS
These channels are not currently in use, but they can be
resurrected at any time
VOICE CHANNELS: We don’t use these frequently, but
Cmdr Haunter shows the latest Star Trek episodes here.
Please check in the event channel for dates.
THREADS: These are used when a discussion goes off
the topic of the channel, so that it doesn’t clog the
channel with a lot of comments, especially if they have
nothing to do with the channel in which the thread began.
