The Vulcan
homeworld of Mr. Spock, named
Vulcan, or Ni’Var, was visited
several times in the Star Trek
series and feature films. First seen
in the TOS episode, Amok Time,
Vulcan, a Class M planet, is an arid
world with a thinner atmosphere than
Earth. McCoy states upon beaming
down, "Hot as Vulcan, now I
understand what that phrase means."
A Star Trek: Discovery episode
revealed that, after the Vulcans
reunified with their ancient
cousins, the Romulans, the Vulcan
homeworld was renamed Ni'Var. Ni'Var
had seceded from the Federation and,
in a later episode, Ni'Var rejoins
the Federation. In the 2009 film
Star Trek, an alternate
timeline is created in which Vulcan
is destroyed. By the time of Star
Trek Into Darkness a Vulcan
colony had been established named
"New Vulcan".
Vulcan is one of the most important
worlds in the Star Trek Universe. It
is also the homeworld of Ambassador
Wookie Picard, who leads the USS
Valkyrie Group (often described by
her as herding sehlats). This world,
like our other planets, was created
by the Ambassador, using assets
provided in-world, in AltspaceVR,
with a few items purchased (such as
the Vulcan starships) from 3-D model
sites. It currently serves as our
hub world, featuring portals to all
sections of the USS Valkyrie, as
well as many Star Trek planets, and
Borg worlds.
While visiting our hub, you will be
able to listen to a collection of
Star Trek theme songs, as well as TV
and movie scores. This is one of the
favorite places of the crew to hang
out.
