Quarrels and Enmity between the Sun and the Moon: A Contribution to the Mythologies of the Philippines, India and the Malay Peninsula

In the Philippines, in India and also in the Malay Peninsula, there exists a mythologial cycle which deals with quarrels and an enmity between the Sun and the Moon. In this paper, the writer wishes to present the material which he collected from ethnological literatire, especially as far as the Philippines is concerned, and to make a tentative comparison of the main features of this cycle as it is found in the three regions in an area that has many cultural elements in common.:
